Visit the mountain town of Marienberg - Renaissance in the Erzgebirge. It lies just 15km (approx 20 minutes by car) away from our cottage.
In the heart of the beautiful mountain landscape of the Erzgebirge is Marienberg - an ancient mountain city, trying to maintain their traditions, but at the same time making every effort to make the present for the future.
Its foundation goes back to the Wettin Duke Henry the Pious of Saxony.
After Silbererzfunden rich in the region he founded in 1521 Marienberg.
Even today, the city listed plant demonstrates its infancy, it is the only preserved north of the Renaissance ideal city investment in the Alps.
