Prague - the heart Eurpoas

Visit Prague, one of nine cities, which bears the title "European City of the Year 2000", only 120 km (about 2 hours by car) away from our cottage. The capital of the Czech Republic is the largest urban conservation area.

Since 1992, the historic city center with an extent of 866 ha in the UNESCO list of World Cultural and Natural Heritage included.

The Prague coat of arms bears the inscription "Praga caput regni" certainly fully justified. Since its inception, Prague has always played an important role not only in the history of the nation and the country but also in Europe.
Since the Middle Ages, Prague has been known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and it has been attributed adjectives such as "golden", "hundred-spired", "the crown of the world", "a stone dream". Throughout centuries, prominent personalities homage dar.
Charmed by the beauty and the wonderful monuments of Prague is known WA Mozart, L. van Beethoven, G. Apollinaire, PI Tchaikovsky, FN Dostoyevsky, A. Rodin, O. Kokoschka, as well as the British Queen Elizabeth II, Pope John Paul II among others
Also in the works of Jan Neruda, Jaroslav Hasek, Jaroslav Seifert, Franz Kafka, Max Brod and Egon Erwin Kisch reflects Prague resist as the birthplace of the poet and writer.

Prague represents a unique monument complex, high above the historic heart of Prague Castle which towers. It is a specimen of all artistic styles and movements. The historic city center stretches along the banks of the Vltava river and consists of 6 parts, formerly independent cities in the 18th Century were combined. It is the Old Town, Josefov (the preserved part of the former Jewish Town - today a part of the old town), New Town, Lesser Town, Hradcany (the houses) and Vysehrad.
Naturally, most monuments, museums and galleries are concentrated.
